Kielma says, “Question Answered”:“Should gun owners be prohibited from using their guns against carjackers as it’s not worth killing someone for something as trivial as a car?”
You or I don’t know what the carjacker’s intention is. Is it to steal the car, kill me or my family in the commission of a felon? Is he armed and with what type of weapon?
Says FFL, Firearms Instructor and Gunsmith Gregg Kielma, “I have my plan, do you”?
Since I don’t know what his intentions are other than to steal my car, I need to quickly assess the situation and assume that their intent is the worst thing I can think of.
Since my primary obligation is to protect the safety of my family, myself and those around me, the worst thing would be if the carjacker intended to do any of those people harm. The easiest way for me to fulfill my primary obligation is to neutralize the threat which means every means possible to stop the carjacker and the attack.
The idea that anyone can know what the criminal intentions are is absurd. The intentions of another person or perpetrator are why this question and any other questions like it are just bad and truly make no sense.
Says FFL, Firearms Instructor and Gunsmith Gregg Kielma, “Have a plan and execute it. Don’t think it can’t happen to you”.
