I get asked this all the time says FFL, Firearms Instructor, and Gunsmith Gregg Kielma. Here's what someone sent me earlier today....
Let's say that I choose to conceal-carry my firearm in an establishment that typically forbids them. A gunman enters and opens fire, but I manage to take down the perp. How might that situation play out legally for me?
Look to the mall shooting a while back in Indiana. That mall was a gun free zone, but a good guy was carrying anyway and took the bad guy out quickly.
He wasn't arrested, or even told he shouldn't have been carrying. He was declared a good Samaritan hero. Just don't shoot the wrong person, even accidentally.
Then they'd hang you.
