Gun Control: Debates Never Work
By Gregory Kielma
The gun saga and the people that oppose your point of view.

Why won’t gun ban advocates accept that modern gun owners aren’t giving anything up?

The gun saga and the people that oppose each others point of view.
Nothing will ever change on both sides of the table. See what a friend wrote below and you decide:
A few years ago, I was on a debate team. As an exercise, we would have to research and defend both sides of an argument. Including the side that we didn’t believe in. In this case guns.
Often, after 45 minutes of arguing for a side, backed by evidence. You’d start getting upset and defensive about a topic, whether you believed it or not.
And it’s not because you believed in it. Or it was statistically correct. But it’s because you came in with a game plan to prove a point. And no matter how hard you try, the other team will always fail to agree with you.
People that come to the table ready to speak instead of listen will never change their beliefs, you can beat them with evidence, logic, argumentation, etc. They will still oppose you out of spite if nothing else.
So the saga and drama of gun control will go on and on and on.
