Why do you Concealed Carry?

Gregg Kielma

From a Brother
TY SIR

I spent 19 months in combat in Viet Nam. I saw what life was like over there where the communists were trying to force their idea of a Paradise on the Vietnamese people many years ago. After my government sponsored tour of that Third World vacation resort, I came home and put 48.5 years, full and part time, into law enforcement. I know what’s out there on American streets, highways and in other parts of the world. I have seen the injuries suffered by innocent people, dumb people and naive people who were preyed upon or attacked by predatory animals and other vermin, most of whom move with 2 legs.

Because of how I was trained and what I have seen, I know certain unfailing facts.

1. Peace and the freedoms like we Americans have, are an abnormality. Nowhere else in the world do we have the amount of freedom and peace that other people have going for them.
2. I will always carry something on me for personal protection or fighting even if it is something as innocuous as a ballpoint pen or a pencil.
3. I will always remain aware of emergency exits and periodically scan the people around me. If something or somebody doesn’t seem quite right, take heed! Move away from the area or leave the building ASAP! This is not paranoia; it is situational awareness. Know the difference between the two issues.
4. Once a fight begins, the fight is not over until I say it is over. Don’t fall ruses, ploys and games. Once a fight begins, you put down the other guy until you feel it safe for you.
5. There is always one more bad guy. Stay alert until the police arrive and take charge of the scene.
6. Smart people plan ahead for trouble, anticipate it and overcome it. Victims suffer their way through times of danger or trouble. Which would you rather be?
