How Far Will A 9 MM Shoot?

If your goal is distance and you simply want to lob that little projectile as far as it'll go, you'll get a smidge over two kilometers.

If you want it to actually be effective, 250 meters is really pushing it. 100 meters is good and 50 meters is what it's designed for.

If you want some entertainment, get a buddy and a spotting scope and you can actually make hits out to about 500 meters with an MP5 on steel silhouette targets. We were doing this at the range in Florida. They have a Buffalo silhouette at 550 yards and we were generally able to hit it once we got the come up figured out. As far as the silhouette was concerned it was probably similar to being hit with thrown gravel.
