Everyone now knows we already have extensive background checks, and people are still committing mass shootings and murders.
Background checks only work if you have a prior record, coupled with you purchasing the weapon legally.
You do not have a proven history of breaking the law or being mentally ill? You can get a gun.
If you know you can't pass a background check? You steal a gun or buy one on the black market. It happens every day.
The assault weapons ban had no effect on lowering the amount of gun crime the last time. Why would this time be any different?
We have tons of laws in place that have curtailed nothing. Laws do not force compliance. Laws are just those pesky things those with a mind for mayhem ignore. No school shooter ever said, “Well, I was going to shoot up the school, but the law says it's illegal, so I can't.”
Kamala Harris knows this. So why push for it?
Because it's not about gun control. It's about PEOPLE control. And that is against everything America stands for.
You can't punish people just because they might commit a crime. You punish when they do commit a crime.
Proactive policing doesn't work in this scenario. So, this is just Kamala’s effort to appear noble while knowing she can do nothing without being unconstitutional.
So, it's either virtue signaling or urging people to give up their freedoms for security knowing she can't deliver security. In other words, it's all about a power grab.
People who give up freedom for security will not, and do not, deserve either one.
So no. I do not agree with Kamala Harris.
