Think carefully before you let Leo search your property

Why do so many people advise to refuse a cop, if the cop asks permission to search your car without a warrant? If I have nothing to hide, then why not let the cop search the car?

Says Kielma, please remember your 4th Amendment right to search's and seizure.  Do not let LEO search your vehicle, person, or property without a search warrant. Contact an attorney immediately. Then invoke your 5th Amendment right to remain silent. Anything you say can be used against you in the court of law. CONTACT an ATTOURNEY before you make any statement to law enforcement. You have rights! Please read on friends.

The simple fact is that if a cop is asking to search your vehicle - regardless of why they tell you they want to, or what PC they claim to have, they believe something is in the car.

LEO is looking to possibly find a crime to arrest you for. They do not have any obligation, formal or otherwise, to assume your innocence. As much as you may look at a cop and think “ah, an officer of the law, this fine gentleman is a shining example of integrity and service to the common man” it may not be the case. A cop looks at you and thinks “What does this person have in his car that I can lock him up for.”

Roll that dice if you want to friends. First time you get arrested, taken to jail, and BOOKED for some melted deodorant in your floorboard that the cop (who will progress, or fail to progress, in his career based on the number of arrests he makes, not the number of arrests he makes that result in convictions) believes is drugs that you tried to smear into the carpet of your car, you’ll understand that the cops are not your friends, even if you haven’t broken the law.
